WHAT IS CLOVENGLADE?

Clovenglade began as an “interactive essay” I wrote about my conflicting nostalgia for the “virtual world” bubble- the brief fad of online interactive games for children, often with monetized elements, with Bella Sara, my favorite of these games, as my case study, as well as my critical thoughts on the concept of nostalgia. It was as much a celebration as it was a criticism, and it was accompanied by some rudimentary interactive elements. However, once it was finished... I couldn’t stop working on it! I just had so many ideas to expand the world I had created. And thus, Clovenglade became more and more ambitious, a game in its own right.

While you engage with the essay content, you will also be able to enjoy features like an interactive stable where you care for horses of your very own, oodles of minigames to play, equestrian events to enter, a cottage of your very own, a huge set of trading cards to collect, and a point-and-click interactive game where you can explore the world of Clovenglade firsthand... and more! There are so many secrets to discover in Clovenglade... So why don’t you take your first trot through its fields and downs?

(The song playing on this index page is Perfect Day by Miriam Stockley, a particularly nostalgic song for me and one that I thought matched the mood I wished to set.)
