Thoughts: I FINALLY DID IT. My Beatles marathon is complete... This one felt like the credits sequence for Beatles The Video Game, tonally. I really enjoyed it. ANYWAY MY FINAL BEATLES THOUGHTS: Neither underrated nor overrated. They’re rated. They’re exactly as good/influential as everyone says. An aspect I liked about this deep dive is how you can kind of get a view of the cultural shifts throughout the decade. The rise of psychidelia and new age spirituality and so on. Political issues of the day like the civil rights movement and such, it all bleeds through into their music and songwriting which makes it such a neat little time capsule. Also it’s crazy how they released all that within such a short time window... Anyway I think my favorite is still Rubber Soul!
