Original Characters
Here’s where you can find information on all of my original and fan characters, and such.
CASTLEVANIA
This is the section for my Castlevania OCs. Almost all of them show up in my fanfiction Futility, as the second half of it is carried by an entirely original cast of characters.
Futility began as a fanfiction that was meant to be a biography of sorts for Barlowe. Originally, it was to be written in third person. Then I wanted it to be from Barlowe’s perspective, as if he wrote it, and I wrote a chapter from this approach (which became the original 2022 version of Futility’s first chapter) but realized that if I did, I could not write his death scene, which I was really eager to write. So, I repurposed what was meant to be a background character, an ancestor to Celia Fortner, the cult leader from Dawn of Sorrow, and made her the narrator. Her name was Lucila. In that initial version of Futility, he remains loyal to Barlowe until the end, never learns or changes, and the story concludes after Ecclesia’s disbanding. I didn’t really have much in mind for her after that. Her writings would go on to be the basis of Celia’s beliefs, but Lucila had no more story to tell... or so I thought.
Late in 2024 one of my friends was tossing around ideas for a roleplay where everyone in the friend group could play as their Castlevania OCs. I of course put forward Lucila, as she was basically my only OC then. We talked a bit about what directions the characters would go in, what secret plans that the ‘DM’ had for the plot, et cetera, and a little seed of Lucila redemption began to grow in my mind. While the RP never ended up happening, I realized that both my skills in writing and my perspective regarding the character had changed. She has a lot of my teenage self sprinkled into how she’s written, and most of the plot took place while she was a teenager. But I’m well into adulthood now, with adult perspectives, and exploring Lucila in adulthood, without the one anchor of her life, was very enticing to me. Futility needed a continuation. And a rewrite, too, to recenter the story on her, her beliefs, and what happens next when the little world of Ecclesia is no more. And so, I wrote it. The second version of Futility is just about novel length and is the writing project I am most proud of. Both versions of the story can be found in my Library. These small bios for the most major characters serve to act as plot reference material at a glance.
As Futility contains subject matter such as cults, suicide, abuse, abandonment, pregnancy and such, so too may these character bios touch on those topics. Also, some details or character nuances may be more apparent in the actual text of the story, so I encourage you to read it in full. These bios are meant to be supplemental materials. WOLFQUEST
I have been playing Wolfquest for years and years and years. I began playing back in 2012 or so, back when it was still 2.5.1 (or “Legacy” as it is now called) and it was said by the developers that the game would never receive another update, due to a lack of funding, thus leaving it incomplete. But I cared little. I greatly enjoyed the game, in all its buggy glory, and came up with endless stories about my wolves and their packs. It was by far my favorite childhood game! Of course, nowadays the game has been thoroughly revived, both in the expanded 2.7/“Classic” edition from 2015, and the version that is now rebuilt from the ground up as “Anniversary Edition”, with the rest of the game’s life arc finally complete. I played AE as soon as its first builds were coming out in early access, and despite some brief hiatuses, I never really stopped. I suspect I will play Wolfquest forever! As such, I have a massive backlog of wolf characters. For the sake of brevity I will restrict myself to keeping the packs grouped together and describing their members somewhat collectively. Also, most of these playthroughs are from before when the Saga update came out, so most of these wolves raised a single litter before I moved on to the next generation. Even now that it is out, I usually prefer one litter per wolf (it makes their pups feel more special that way!), though I do intend to do some full saga playthroughs in the future. But for most of my wolves I like using the “Find a Den” game state as a sort of freeplay mode with my now-capable pups. Many of these were from before you could raise pups in other maps, so Slough Creek is a bit overrepresented as well. I also prefer to save scum around pup deaths so don't expect any dramatic loss of life... My heart just can't handle it. Many of these synopses come from emergent stories in the gameplay but are embellished through my imagination, and some are wholly original. I hope you’ll enjoy the stories of these packs!!!
